COVID-19 Resources for Funders
During this unprecedented time, philanthropy is needed more than ever to provide support where government and other institutional support nets are failing.
Here are a few places to start for food and farming in California, and in support of communities that are disproportionately being impacted by this crisis:
California FarmLink - An essential service provider, California Farmlink is stepping up as a certified CDFI to administer the Paycheck Protection Program, emergency loans (up to $20,000) and Small Business Administration loans to farmers that would otherwise not have access to these resources
Community Alliance with Family Farmers - The Family Farmer Emergency Fund has been established to serve farmers in California with grants up to $5,000. Over half of these grant will support historically disadvantaged farmers
First Nations Development Institute - This crisis is disproportionately impacting Native communities. Please visit First Nations Development Institute’s website for an extensive list of funds, resources, and information to take effective action in support of Native communities
